New commenting system

I took Hardibird's invitation to check out the new commenting system. Why can't we keep the one we have? It's not broken. Well, it is broken, but it does work. I do not like it. Do not want.

It's nice to know it's not me. I don't the weird pop-ups. I know conversations pop-up now but it seems clearer and more readable. It's taken me a while to get used to the current system and navigate it reasonably well. I don't want to have to break in a new system.

I have just been having trouble posting comments on the FP lately using Chrome. The page already doesn't load right on IE so Chrome is really my only other option right now. Oppo doesn't seem to have this issue..

The commenting window opens, but never finishes loading, it seems, as it never becomes enabled to type, and none of the formatting tools load. Anyone else having the same problem?

I just tried to navigate it, and if it doesn't make sense after clicking around a bit, it's useless. I clicked "MORE" at the end of someone's post, neverminding there was another "MORE" right below it, and it opened a reply window.

Either its broke, or it just works like shit, I vote the latter.

Commenting systems go through the same cycle over and over again.

Old System: relatively stable, lacking features

New System 1: Buggy on release and everyone is familiar with the old system so they complain about the new one. Bugs are fixed over time and it becomes relatively stable.

New system 2: Fixes the complaints from the release of New System 1 (in essence turning it into an updated Old System). People are used to New System 1 so they complain about the changes. Buggy on release fixed over time.

Then it alternates between those two systems for a while till someone has the bright idea to overhaul the whole thing restarting the cycle. People just like 'fixing' things forever.

You ever been to a Kroger or similar? Well then, you know how the store is laid out and can get around easily. Then about 3 months later the store manager decides to change things around, and in his mind, it will make things easier on the shoppers.

Well you go in after the change, and absolutely nothing is where it was before. The chips are now 5 isles away from the beer instead of right next to it. You were supposed to get jello pudding but after searching and searching you just say, "Fuck it," and leave. Yeah it's like that.

To be fair to Kroger, and every other retailer for that matter, they move things so you will see more products, things you ordinarily wouldn't shop for. If you always to go the same place, you'll never see things you might not have thought about purchasing otherwise. So, they do it for a good reason. I can see no good reason for the commenting change. It's not simply moving the Lucky Charms to a new aisle; it's moving the Lucky Charms and taking down all the signs that indicate where the cereal aisle is located.

I worked at one for almost 3 years, they change shit just to change shit.
